Locked On Ole Miss Hit - Quick Takes on Ole Miss Rebels Football & Basketball

Golding Is Building Three Plans For Vanderbilt's Quarterbacks

Episode Summary

Vanderbilt has two quarterbacks. Pete Golding says he is preparing three plans. Both segments today come from his Vanderbilt preview press conference. On Jared Curtis: Golding called him super talented, a big body with a live arm, a really good quick release, and said it gets scary when he moves the pocket because he throws well on the run. On Blaze Berlowitz: you can feel the New Mexico influence, much more option-generated - 'numbers and grass' - and he named their bread and butter, the G lead, saying they are not hiding it. The third plan is the one nobody is talking about. Golding said he expects both quarterbacks in the game, and then said he probably expects them both on the field at the same time. Second segment, his own roster and two rotations. Right tackle he tied to health - Tommy Kinsler back healthier after being banged up, Connor Hawes getting meaningful snaps and playing well at times. His standard: if guys are playing winning football, they deserve to play. The backfield is different. Golding was specific that JT Lindsey is a very explosive player and that Mekhi Frazier runs it extremely hard. On Kewan Lacy he said from the podium that he rested the open week, did rehab, practiced Sunday mostly non-contact, and that he fully anticipates having him - but that even coming back he is not taking 40 to 50 snaps. The honest counterweight: a coach four days out has every reason to say the opponent is complicated, and a committee backfield is also what you say when you are not sure. Which rotation worries you more? Tell me in the comments. More at OleMissHub.com and in the Discord: https://discord.gg/KF3dtcQJhC Locked On Ole Miss Hits — quick takes on the Rebels every weekday.
