This is not a conspiracy take, and the show says so out loud. Awful Announcing, which wrote the toughest version of this story, concluded that ESPN does not have a Jimmy Sexton problem — it has a disclosure problem. That is the argument here, and it is the one that actually holds up.
Then take two. On January 1, that same panel filed its picks for the Sugar Bowl quarterfinal. Saban picked Georgia. Herbstreit picked Georgia. Desmond Howard picked Georgia. Pat McAfee picked Georgia. Ole Miss won 39-34.
On September 19, that set comes to the Grove.
