SEGMENT ONE: Ole Miss had not beaten Missouri since 1974. The Rebels won 31-3 on Homecoming and were never behind after the first quarter. Stack what the school's own release says: 15 straight home wins, second-longest active in major college football. 24-1 inside Vaught-Hemingway since 2023, the best mark in the sport. Only the second time in a decade this program has held a conference opponent to three points or fewer. And Trinidad Chambliss has never lost a game in that building. The take: this program's edge has quietly stopped being the quarterback and started being the address. The counterweight: Charlotte, LSU and Missouri all came to Oxford, and the one loss happened on the road at Florida. SEGMENT TWO: everything the manageable part of this schedule had to give is already banked, and there is no cushion left. Texas on the road Saturday night, then Auburn, Georgia and Oklahoma.
