You cannot rank a quarterback sixth in America and in the same document decide nobody will catch what he throws. And this is not a list that discounts receivers: Jeremiah Smith is No. 1 overall, Malachi Toney is 5th and Cam Coleman is 7th — three of the top seven.
Then later: Johntay Cook II led Syracuse in receiving last season with 45 catches for 549 yards in 12 games, including six for 113 against Clemson. He was a five-star out of DeSoto, Texas — No. 38 nationally and the No. 7 receiver in his class. He is not on the list either. We have said on this show that Cook will be one of the two leading receivers on this team, so the list and this show now disagree in public.
Being fair: nobody in that room has produced at a top-100 level yet, 199 catches and 3,015 yards genuinely left in December, and 45 catches at Syracuse is not 45 catches in the SEC. A prediction is not production.
